Based on Malix's "A Concise History" or better known to students everywhere as "A Rambling History" - Altimus Tierta, in his life mission to uncover the plot which attempted to change history, and edit the truth, created "A More Succinct History"

By comparing and validating the differences between the various copies - he focused on filtering out not only the interesting,  and relevant, but focused on any parts which been edited.

In an attempt to denounce his claims, the Scribes Guild compared the six remaining copies of "A Concise History" were compared...and they realised Altimus Tierta was entirely correct!

They tried to hide this fact but the details were released by the Master Librarian - Agnes.

Although his descent into madness is legendary, he was maybe not quite as mad as everyone first though, and people started looking into the less bizarre claims (though many, as is the way of people, also started believing the more bizarre).

The edits to the books were obviously based on location/region, with some seriously worrying alterations, some of which sparked wars. [TODO: insert example]

Although this may not have been his original plan, his summarised version - where he tried to pull out the dross, and compare the "truths", is now standard reading and study for any apprentice scribe. Mainly as it also included the answers for every exam question and study, without quite so much rambling rhetoric.

The Scribes Guild banned the book for many years, but after realising every student had a copy, eventually they gave in....and it is standard reading.

And so was born "A more Succinct history" with the legendary comments and footnoted green ink (and towards the end glows squid ink) from Altimus.
