The Aegis

The Aegis are a futuristic race, with technology far beyond The New Empire. They live in Gas Giants across the system, and are not much liked by anyone due to their meddling in the affairs of others. However, The New Empire is an exception here as they helped defeat Mailcante hundreds of years ago - then created Infinity Keep to imprison him. Then they created the Ghost Wardens, proving they do make mistakes and are not Gods. The Aegis left shortly after The Great War, as their only concern was The Sculk (and it is rumoured The Void). However they left The Reaches behind, and reportedly, a few items of vast power entrusted to The Ideal, including The Aegis Horns, and The Gravitas Blades.

They have the ability to open and close portals, and the means for space travel. The Aegis Enclave oversee all, and are 12 in number (though some say there may even be a 13th).

The Aegis Advisors eyes reportedly see everything, but unlike The Historian, he looks to the future, only caring about the past as a means for statistical analysis. He predicts the future with an accuracy that even the Genies cannot match. The Advisor seemingly thought he might find a kindred spirit, or an ally in The Historian. The Historian has reportedly only drawn his sword once in the millions of years he has faithfully recorded the planets history, and its fair to say they are unlikely to meet again. The Genies predicted the result of that meeting accurately, and avoid them both...
